On the Doorstep

Upper Foxhangers Farm is a lovely place to escape for a holiday or long weekend break. The Kennett & Avon Canal is but a stone’s throw away and ideal for walking, cycling and coarse fishing or just simply watching the brightly painted narrow boats go by.

Explore Wiltshire

Take a stroll across the farm into the village of Rowde and stop off at the George & Dragon for lunch. Alternatively, follow the all weather tow path to Seend Cleeve and lunch at the Barge Inn on the edge of the canal. The Canal Barn is a comfortable place to stay from which to explore the historic cities of Bath and Salisbury, or visit the local market towns of Devizes and Marlborough. Lacock Abbey, Longleat, Bowood House and Stourhead Gardens are close by as well as the ancient sites of Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury Hill, for which Wiltshire is so famous.
